Help a Child Reach Five
on Global Handwashing Day
Remember how scary your first day of school was? How about the look on your child’s face on their first day? They’re probably some of your most cherished memories. Sadly for 2 million children and their families, these are memories that will never be made, but it doesn’t need to be this way.
Poor hygiene means that in many parts of the world, diseases such as diarrhoea and pneumonia are common. These diseases end the dreams of nearly 5,000 children every day. All it takes to turn this situation on its head is for communities to hand-wash with soap.
So, this Global Handwashing Day, Lifebuoy is calling on everyone to make a great big noise and not to let this situation be forgotten until it’s solved.
Lifebuoy is working with communities around the world to educate them on healthy hand washing habits. Last year, Lifebuoy began its work in a small village in India and incidents of diarrhoea have dropped from 36% to 5%. This year, Lifebuoy will be taking their message to Indonesia.
We’re standing up for every dream of every child and parent. Together, we can make sure those first memories for a #BrightFuture are made.
