We believe there’s never been a better time to create a brighter future. Our people, partners and our brands work together to make this a reality.
On 20 November 2013, Universal Children’s Day, Unilever launched Project Sunlight, a campaign to motivate millions of people to adopt more sustainable lifestyles.
Since then, with the help of a growing community of people who believe in the power of taking action, we made a positive contribution towards the life of millions of people around the world. We’ve formed lasting partnerships and worked with today’s inspiring new leaders towards a brighter and more sustainable future. We had many proud moments:We helped 2 million children across the world, through Unilever's ongoing partnership with Save the Children, UNICEF and the World Food Programme.
In the UK last year we provided half a million meals to UK families in need through our #ClearAPlate campaign in partnership with Oxfam, on top of 2 million meals already provided through our ongoing partnership.
Unilever supports Team London Young Ambassadors, the Mayor of London's volunteer programme for schools which aims to inspire young people to engage in social action, both in their school and the local community. To date the programme has seen participation from more than 800 schools reaching a massive 140,000 young people.
Unilever worked with The Guardian throughout 2014 to inspire millions of families to create a better and more sustainable life through the Live Better initiative. We encouraged them to make small changes that add up to a big difference – for example in our food waste challenge our collective efforts saved 10 tonnes of waste.
We helped 2 million children across the world, through Unilever's ongoing partnership with Save the Children, UNICEF and the World Food Programme.
In the US, we’ve been working with Free The Children for We Day, celebrating the accomplishments of thousands of inspiring young people. And we began awarding Unilever Bright Future Grants to young new leaders, such us Joshua Williams, from Joshua’s Heart Foundation; and Kylee McCumber, who started the Kylee’s Kare Kits for Kidz Inc.
We reached 20 thousand children in over 100 schools in Indonesia with hygiene educational programs and sanitation facilities.
In India, together with our NGO partners, we are helping over 115 million people through health and sanitation programs.
In Brazil, we are committed to help more than 1 billion people to improve their health and hygiene conditions.
Because so many people have embraced the bright future spirit, we have decided to call this campaign brightFuture.
We hope you will continue to join us in amplifying the efforts of those who share the belief that the time for action is NOW.
