We’re Showing the Love
For a Brighter Future
February is a month known for many things, but what stands out most, is love. With Valentine's Day almost upon us, why not share a little affection with the place we call home - our planet. Join people from all over the UK who are coming together to do just that, thanks to The Climate Coalition and their new campaign.
Climate change is a big deal. You know it, we know it, everyone knows it. And thankfully world leaders finally came to an agreement at last year’s Climate Summit in Paris to do something about it. While the summit was a great start, it's now up to all of us to keep that momentum going and take action.
Step forward, The Climate Coalition. This is an initiative formed of over 100 different organisations that all share one goal: 100% clean energy within a generation. Their current campaign #ShowTheLove aims to remind us all why climate change is something we need to tackle, for people, places and life not just in the UK, but worldwide.
To help do this, The Climate Coalition has created a powerful video, written by War Horse author Michael Morpurgo, and featuring Jeremy Irons and Maxine Peake. Check it out below.
At Unilever we’re already taking steps to help our planet and people. Using 100% clean energy is a really important goal for us, and we're working to make that a reality. From compressing our deodorants, to creating concentrated washing liquids, to powering an entire factory with ice-cream waste, we work closely with brands to continuously develop new solutions. In addition to this, we're working to help protect one million trees in two of the world’s most threatened forest areas, Brazil and Indonesia.
Change is happening, but we need everyone to help make a real difference.
What can you do to help?
- Show The Love by watching and sharing The Climate Coalition’s inspiring film this Valentine’s Day.
- Sign our pledge to protect one million trees on behalf of someone you love.
- Join us at Ealing Forest on February 13th to create an urban woodland. We’ll be planting 5,000 trees on the day to help make up the 20,000 we are working with the Mayor of London to plant.
- Make, wear and share your green heart in the run-up to this Valentine’s Day. It’s a beautiful way to begin a conversation about the things we love that climate change threatens, and the clean energy choices we must make to protect our world.
